What does school improvement capacity mean to us?
School improvement capacity is a school’s capability to react to internal and external challenges in a competent manner, and to develop school and classroom opportunities in such a way that pupils are able to learn more effectively and attain their learning goals successfully.
School improvement capacity comprises
- the capacity of individual actors in schools, in particular teaching staff and specialists, and school administrators (e.g. competence, motivation, capabilities)
- the capacity of individual teams within the school (e.g. cooperation, interdisciplinary exchange)
- the capacity of the school as a whole (e.g. collective learning)
