Studies/Teaching

The Chair of Upper Secondary Education and Research on Teaching and Learning mainly conducts various courses for prospective high school teachers. In addition, offers are also provided for students in the Bachelor s and Master s degree programs in educational science. Our courses provide a basic understanding of the interaction system of teaching and its manifold structural and process features. In these courses, current theories and empirical results are used to derive measures that contribute to developing teachers  professional competences and the effective design of individual teaching and learning processes.

Research Traineeship

An internal research traineeship at the chair of Upper Secondary Education and Research on Teaching and Learning is open to students in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in educational science and, upon request, to students in the Master s program in Psychology. It offers the opportunity to work on our ongoing research projects and to gain insights into qualitative and quantitative research methods. A research traineeship can also serve as a starting point for later independent work, such as qualifying papers as well as Bachelor's or Master's theses. Interested students are invited to contact Prof. Karlen for further information.

The current announcements for research traineeships at the chair of Upper Secondary Education and Research on Teaching and Learning  can be found on the website Website Master of the Institute of Education.
